Hobbies and Activities

Hobbies play a very important role in our lives. They occupy our minds when we are free and also make us happy. Hobbies are our escape from the real world that makes us forget our worries. Moreover, they make our lives interesting and enjoyable. If we look at it, all our hobbies are very useful for us. They teach us a lot of things about different stuff. They also help in expanding our knowledge.

Hobbies are favorite activities a person does for fun rather than for gain and does so from time to time, not as a regular business. In a way, one may define hobbies as one’s favorite entertainment. Therefore, it is vital to understand the importance of hobbies in people’s lives. Hobbies are not innate passions that are already within one’s personality at birth – on the contrary, their development is a continuous and systematic process. The primary purpose of a hobby is to get joy from it, which is why a part of its definition is that people do not pursue hobbies to make a profit. Hobbies are frequently thought of as activities for people who live a calm and relaxed lifestyle.

Dancing

If I were to pick one favorite hobby of mine out of the many I have, I will definitely pick dancing. I developed a taste for dancing when I was very young. The way my feet moved to the rhythm of the music convinced my parents that I was a born dancer. Dancing is very uplifting as well as economical. I have always had a love for music and dance. However, I never realized the utter joy they bring to humans. Dancing gives us a lot of exercises. It teaches us to move our body rhythmically and feel the beat of every song. This kind of physical exercise is extremely delightful and enjoyable. Moreover, dance also taught me how to stay strong and push my limits. I have had many injuries while dancing, too many bruises and cuts but that didn’t stop me from pursuing it further. In fact, it pushes me to do my best and realize my potential more than ever.

Travelling

Traveling is my other passion. Whenever I have an opportunity to visit a new place, whether it's a village, city, mountain or coast, I never miss it. It is so thrilling to see a new place and meet new people! Whenever I travel around a new place, I take my camera and shoot interesting pictures of people, buildings, monuments, bazaars, etc. It gives me immense satisfaction and pleasure. Though traveling can be an expensive hobby, I love it. One of the reasons I love traveling is that it allows me to learn and grow. Every time I visit a new place, I have the opportunity to learn about its history, culture, and people. I get to see new sights, try new foods, and experience new things. These experiences broaden my horizons and help me to understand the world better. Traveling also helps me to de-stress and escape from the daily grind. When I am on the road, I am able to disconnect from my work and daily responsibilities. I can focus on the present moment and enjoy the experience of being in a new place. This allows me to recharge my batteries and return home feeling refreshed and energized.

Gardening

I also like Gardening. We have also prepared flowerbeds in which we have planted a few rose bushes, lilies, sunflowers, mogra, China rose and a colorful variety of seasonal flowers. We also have grown gladioli, orchids, chrysanthemums, germaniums, jasmines, ferns and crotons. Recently, I bought a Christmas tree. Everyday after 1 return from my school and have my lunch, 1 rush to the garden to do a little digging and watering the plants. We also regularly add manure and other medicines for protection and better flowering. During autumn one has to clean the garden daily because of the number of dry leaves shed. Otherwise, I clean it only twice a week. Grass grows very quickly during the rainy seasons, so one has to mow it regularly.

Gifting Flowers

Moreover, every day before going to school, I check the kind of flowers blooming and the number of buds ready to bloom. On birthdays and anniversaries, I sometimes make a bouquet from my garden as a present. Now I am thinking of growing vegetables in one corner of the garden. If I succeed, then we won’t have to buy vegetables and we can even distribute it among our neighbors and friends. At least the common ones can be grown which occupy less space and are eaten every other day.
