Acro

I have been doing acro for almost five years now. I got my athletic start in ballet when I was about four years old which didn’t last too long. I tried gymnastics out once or twice when I was six but wasn’t consistent. In second grade is when I started gymnastics consistently. I joined because my best friend was in gymnastics. I started to really enjoy artistic gymnastics. I moved up a level each year ‘till I started competing when I was in 5th grade. I was doing the basics and competed in 6th grade too.

After 6th grade I moved to do acrobatic gymnastics with my little sister at her team. I became a base and worked really hard on my flexibility, tumbling, and strength. That first year, I competed in a trio with Kendall and Kylie. We were a level 7 trio and took home two gold medals until having to quarantine due to the coronavirus pandemic. I later went on to be a level 8 trio with Kendall and Kira, then a level 10 trio with Gabby and Kira, and just last year I was a Junior Elite 12-18 trio with Gabby and Aiva.

I have learned so much from this sport and I am so grateful to all of my coaches and teammates because they made me the athlete I am today. I hope to keep growing in this sport and watch it get more popular. Scro isn’t in the Olympics yet. Not many people know about it, unfortunately. So until then, acro was World Championships, World Games, Pan American Championships, and other international meets. I am proud to say I recently made the International Club Team at the 2023 Nationals Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma this past summer with Gabby and Aiva.

My favorite competition ever was the West Coast Competition from 2023. My trio and I competed one of our best balance routines. I was so happy I got to see my favorite friends there and spend time with my team.
